The short version
- Every entry is saved on your device first. Nothing is sent until the device is connected with a setup code from your distillery's StillReporting.
- Once it's connected, your entries go to your distillery's StillReporting and nowhere else. Floor talks to no other server.
- No ads, no tracking and no third-party analytics. We don't sell your information or share it with advertisers.
- Floor doesn't use your location or the microphone. The camera only reads setup codes and barrel or tank tags, and no picture is kept.
Who this covers
StillSuite Floor is made by StillSuite ("we"), which makes software for craft distilleries, StillReporting among it. The app is used by a distillery's head distiller and the people who fill, dump, gauge and bottle.
In this policy, "your distillery" means the business whose setup code your device uses. Your distillery connects your device to its StillReporting, sets your role there, and decides who on its team can see the records you send.
What stays on your device
Floor keeps its records in a database inside the app, on your device:
- Your entries: each fill, dump, gauge, transfer, run or bottling count you record, until StillReporting has it. Sent entries stay on the device for 30 days, so you can see them in Queue, and are then cleared.
- The lists the forms pick from, copied from your distillery's StillReporting: today's runs and dumps, and its plants, lots and tanks. They let the forms work with no signal.
- Who you are and where to send: your name, email address and distillery's name as StillReporting gives them, and your distillery's StillReporting address.
The key that lets the device send, which comes from the setup code, is stored in the iOS Keychain for this device only. It's never in the app's database and never in a backup, so a device restored from a backup has its entries but has to be set up again before it sends anything.
What goes to your distillery's StillReporting
When the device is connected, Floor syncs on its own while the app is open: when you open it, right after you save an entry, and every five minutes. It doesn't sync while the app is closed or in the background. This is what it sends:
- Entries
- What kind of work it was, which lot, tank or run, the figures you entered (such as gallons, proof, temperature or a bottle count, depending on the form), any note you add, when you recorded it, and the one line Queue shows for it. Each entry carries a random id, so it's never recorded twice.
- Tags
- A barrel or tank tag you scan or type, to find which lot or tank it belongs to. Without signal, Floor looks it up in the lists on the device instead.
- Your key
- Every request carries the device's key, which tells StillReporting whose device it is. That's how your entries are credited to you, and how your role is checked on each one.
- Discards
- When you discard a refused entry, Floor tells StillReporting, so it goes from your other devices too.
In return, the device receives your name, email address and distillery's name, what your role may record, today's shift, the plants, lots and tanks, and the entries you sent or had refused from your other devices.
Once entries reach StillReporting, they're your distillery's production records, which distilleries are required to keep. Your distillery decides who on its team can see them. To have a record corrected, ask your distillery. For anything else about your information, write to us at hello@stillsuite.online.
Camera and clipboard
- Camera: to scan the setup code, and the tag on a barrel or tank. Floor reads the code from the camera's view and keeps no picture. You can type a tag instead.
- Clipboard: read only when you tap Paste setup code. Once the device is connected, Floor clears the setup code from the clipboard.
What Floor doesn't do
- No ads, and no advertising identifier.
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- No third-party analytics or crash-reporting tools in the app.
- No location, no microphone, no photo library and no notifications.
- We don't sell your information or share it with advertisers.
Your choices
- Turn camera access off at any time in the iOS Settings app, under StillSuite Floor. You can still type tags, and paste the setup code.
- Disconnect this device, under Settings, then StillSuite, stops syncing and removes the key from the Keychain. Your entries stay on the device.
- To stop a device's key working on the server as well, your distillery disconnects the device in StillReporting, under Settings, then Mobile access. The app then shows Disconnected.
- When someone else sets the device up with their own code, your unsent entries are held for you. They're sent only if you set the device up again, and they can be discarded in Queue.
- Deleting the app removes its database from the device. A key an earlier install left in the Keychain is cleared the next time the app is installed and opened.
